    Brief overview of the role: The post holder will support pupils in their learning and day to day school life.     Vacancy description

    Brief description of responsibilities

    The role will include supporting school staff in setting up classroom activities, working with small groups of children, overseeing larger groups during lessons and break times and supporting school staff with all aspects of the school day.

    Duties may include:

    • To report to the teacher regarding the progress of individual children
    • To be aware of the individual learning needs of children, and to deliver a program of work so that they make good progress
    • To have knowledge of factors that inhibits children’s learning and adapts teaching in order to overcome these barriers
    • To prepare resources and tasks so that the children make good progress
    • To keep accurate records which contribute to the teacher’s assessments of the children
    • To be involved in delivering exciting and stimulating learning experiences that will ensure rapid and sustained progress
    • Monitor and evaluate pupil’s response to learning activities through observations and feedback to pupils and teacher
    • To ensure that subject knowledge is excellent by attending any CPD provided by the school and identifying areas for own development
