    Vacancy description

    Brief description of responsibilities

    • To plan, implement and develop activities which promote and encourage learning in accordance with The Early Years Foundation Stage
    • To provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment for children including the maintenance and cleaning of resources and equipment
    • Enforce Pre-school Curriculum and have knowledge of working within the Early Years Foundation Stage
    • To play and interact with children, encouraging all round progression and development
    • To work with all children and to provide children with Special Educational Needs additional support when required
    • To communicate with parents encouraging effective parental involvement by developing positive relationships
    • To develop relationships with all children and those within Key Person group
    • To keep accurate observation records of children in Key Person groups. All written records to be of a high standard and should be legible, no grammatical errors or spelling errors
    • To participate fully in the support and guidance of parents, volunteers and students working within the pre-school
    • To work in partnership with other agencies who have a role to play in the provision of services to children and families
    • To promote equality in all aspects of service delivery
    • To undertake professional training and development. Attend group meetings when required
    • To take all steps to safeguard own welfare and that of others by observing the health and safety at work regulations
    • To have regard to the Safeguarding Children’s Policy and to report and concerns to the designated Safeguarding Officer
    • To ensure all children are collected and escorted safely from the premises by parents/carers
    • To ensure all children are cleaned after soiling and appropriate precautions and procedures to be followed
    • To deal with accidents when required and report them immediately to the designated First Aider
    • To carry out additional tasks which are relevant to the post

    Desired qualifications

    • Recognised Level 2 Qualification in Childcare

    • Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage and Child Development
