Brief overview of the role: We are looking for an apprentice to assist in the provision of quality play and development opportunities for children aged between birth and five years within a day nursery environment. We are a 24 place day nursery situated in a homely bungalow in Bottesford.

Brief description of responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities to include:

• To assist key persons with their responsibility for a group of children
• To continually assist with the development progress of the children
• To help with the planning of play and development opportunities as a staff team that ensure the development needs of all the children are being met
• To lead play and development opportunities with groups of children
• To ensure the children’s physical needs are met, including input into menu planning and provision of a healthy diet
• To ensure positive relationships with parents are maintained
• To be vigilant in respect of the health, safety, and well being of all persons within the nursery
• To be committed to ongoing training, and personal progression

Requirements and prospects

• Previous experience in a day nursery environment
• Ability to communicate with children, colleagues,professionals and parents effectively
• Past experience of communication at all levels
• Good recording skills

Desired qualifications

• Ideally you will hold the Childcare level 2 qualifications and/ relevant setting experience
• GCSE or equivalents at grades 4/C or above in maths,English and science
